Artist Statement

I’ve been contemplating the idea that life can be a strange journey.  Some roads we choose to follow, others are not taken.  Some paths must go unexplored and dead ends negotiated.  Choices must be made.  At times we can feel like we’re lost in a foreign land – there are unfamiliar signposts and incomprehensible language.  Eventually we become accustomed to our new surroundings- new sites, new smells, new feelings, new you.  The best we can do is try to live in eudaimonia (“human flourishing” or “life well lived.”) These paintings are a reflection of my own personal journey.

Artist Bio:

I am a 13 year resident of Alaska.  I currently live in Anchorage with my husband and two children.  I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia, Athens.

Snow City has been showing original local artwork since we opened in 1998. We are truly grateful to all of the artists who have shared their work with us, everything from incredibly colorful quilts and marionettes to beautiful watercolor and oil paintings.
