Artist Statement

These paintings continue my interest in texture and pattern as well as my usual subjects of ocean creatures, insects, and robots! I am also inspired by tribal/primitive art as well as Mexican Folk Art.  Hopefully the art I create reflects these ideas and subjects in a new and unique way. All of my larger pieces are done in acrylics with the smaller ones being done in either acrylic or water colors. Lately, I have also been playing around with screen printing and making my own serigraphs.

Enjoy!

Snow City has been showing original local artwork since we opened in 1998. We are truly grateful to all of the artists who have shared their work with us, everything from incredibly colorful quilts and marionettes to beautiful watercolor and oil paintings.

During the winter months we host Alaska Quarterly Review on First Fridays with readings and eclectic music. Check out what's coming up at AQR

First Friday

On the First Friday of every month, Anchorage's local galleries, including Snow City Cafe, stay open late, show off their new art and, usually, offer free appetizers. This monthly Gallery Walk is always fun and well attended.
