Artist Statement

I try to keep my work upbeat for the most part, for one, because that’s just who I am, and because there are enough things out there that aren’t so nice and cheerful. Whether it’s a war raging or just the high price of gas!

Many of my pieces are done in acrylics with a lot of texture. I do a lot of dry brushing on my work and I like the fact that the paint is dry almost immediately.  Lately, I have been playing around with screen printing and making my own serigraphs. It’s a lot of fun but can get frustrating at times when the squeegee gods aren’t cooperating!

Stemming from my screen printing, I’ve gotten a renewed interest in line and pattern.  I’m excited about exploring this in my larger pieces as well as continuing to work with different textures.

I hope you enjoy my work.

Snow City has been showing original local artwork since we opened in 1998. We are truly grateful to all of the artists who have shared their work with us, everything from incredibly colorful quilts and marionettes to beautiful watercolor and oil paintings.
